The Office of Discrimination enforces laws against employment discrimination because of
race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, national origin,
disability,
age (40 or older), marital status or genetic information.
Sexual orientation is a recent addition to the protected classes. By law, sexual orientation "exclusively means heterosexuality, homosexuality, or bisexuality."
These laws can be found in 19 Delaware Code Chapter 7. Other laws may protect you from other types of discrimination, such as discrimination in public accommodation or housing. These laws are enforced by the Delaware Human Relations Commission, http://www.state.de.us/sos/hr/.
