What is DODHH?
The Delaware Office the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, (DODHH) is a state agency which was established on March 1, 1993 by the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Department of Labor. The goal of DODHH is to ensure that deaf and hard of hearing citizens have equal accessibility to services and programs in Delaware.

The Delaware Office the Deaf and Hard of Hearing actively promotes independence, equality, and self advocacy for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
VisionStatement
The Delaware Office for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing ensures all citizens of Delaware are educated regarding civil rights of people who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, so that they are fully integrated into the community.
The visor communication card is kept on your car's sun visor in your car. In case of a traffic stop or accident, you show the visor card to the police officer. The officer will know that you have a hearing loss that interferes with your ability to hear instructions and answer questions. A copy of a visor communication card application is here with the instructions about what is required to obtain a visor card.
List of Service Provided:
- Provides information on assistive technology, local and national eventsand news.
- Presents workshops and sensitivity training.
- Provides information and resources about finding and working with a sign language interpreter and other auxiliary aids such as assistive listening devices and Computer Aided Realtime Translation (CART).
Referral:
Assistsindividuals in obtaining services from state and private agencies.
Advocacy:
Supports individuals in obtaining appropriate services or accommodations.
