The mission of the Division of Industrial Affairs (DIA) is to foster, promote, and develop the welfare of the wage earners of the state of Delaware, to improve their working conditions, and to advance their opportunities for profitable employment by:

• Promoting economic stability to injured workers and their families by providing partial income maintenance.
• Protecting workers from unfair and/or unsafe working conditions through the enforcement of laws governing wage payment, minimum wage, child labor, prevailing wage, meal breaks, right to inspect personnel files, and discrimination based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, and genetic testing.
• Insuring safe and healthy working conditions by identifying workplace hazards and collecting statistical data relating to workplace injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.
