The Real Game Series
Serious life and career building programs
...disguised as games.
All games are based on the High Five Principles:
- Change is Constant
We change constantly and so does the world around us-including the working world. Because a single occupation will no longer take workers from the beginning to the end of their working lives, adaptability is an important skill to carry into the future. - Learning is Ongoing

Graduating from high school or college doesn't mean that your education is complete. Opportunities to learn are everywhere! Learn to recognize them and make your learning a lifelong experience. - Focus on the Journey
Traveling through life is like traveling down a road: having a destination gives direction, but most of the time is spent moving along. Pay attention to the journey with all its pitfalls, sidetracks, opportunities, and highways to new destinations. - Follow Your Heart
Dreaming about your future can help you understand what you really want in life. Knowing what you want and keeping it in your mind can give you the motivation you need to deal with life's challenges. Never be afraid to dream. - Access Your Allies
The journey of life is not taken alone. Friends, family, teachers, neighbors--any of them can be willing and helpful allies when it comes to judging what steps to take in life's path.
The Real Game Series provides you with ready-made activities that address the National Career Development Guidelines, fulfill the American School Counselor Association's (ASCA) National Standards for School Counseling Programs in career development, and reflect skills and competencies from the U.S. Department of Labor's SCANS Report (Secretary's Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills).
Currently, The Make It Real Game - Grades 5 & 6 - and The Real Game - Grades 7 & 8 - have been aligned to the State of Delaware's Academic Standards. Other student games may be aligned as the need becomes apparent.
The recommended length of time for completing each game
ranges from 10 to 26 hours. However, because the games are designed
to be flexible, actual times can vary, depending on the wishes and
creativity of the facilitator/teacher.
